Markbass Micromark

Hey guys,

I am using a cmd102p combo and LOVE it. but it is a little big and cumbersome when practising with the missus in the next room. I end up tapping on the voume knob, trying to get between too loud, and not loud enough.

So i have been thinking of the micromark...

Its main duty would be sitting on my desk for playing along with my computer, and the occasional acoustic, or quiet electric jam. The minimark might be a better choice tone/performance wise, but the extra cost makes it pretty excessive for something i am mainly using to play along with a set of logitech speakers.

Any thoughts?

That's about all it would be good for but it would sound really good. I'd cheap out and get an Acoustic B20 for playing at home and use the 210 combo for anything else. You can't possibly complain about its weight

I just bought a Micromark today and I must say it has some pretty useable volume to it, not too far off handling an average volume drummer.

Not saying it is 300watt + 210 loud but I was getting to the point where it was too loud for my dorm room before I hit its limit.

Edit: by handling an average volume drummer I mean for just a practice where you need to be heard not sound good or be felt, but I only just got it so i might be in amp love

Good to hear. I've been looking at the Micromark myself for when I visit my parents place and want to take a bass along or just for jaming with a buddy and not wanting to "lug" (haha my Markbass rig weighs 90lbs as is) my rig.

Hmmm, i dunno if it is the Micro i have at the office, but it sounds a little farty... of course with a small speaker, there is some fartyness to be expected, but this seems a little excessive...

Unsure of how to go... the minimark would probably be perfect, but a little hefty, considering it is close in $$$ to my CMD102p!

I'll save you the $800 or whatever that minimark costs. Just turn down the pre gain on the amp to a very low level. It will make the master volume much less jumpy when dialing in your volume at very low volume levels.

There's no reason to spend a bunch of money on a small amp just because you want to play soft! IMO!

Thinking as i do, like a guitar player, i seemed to leave the pre gain alone for the most part.... cause i am aguitar player of course.... and i liked the sound.

I think you are right... I actually have other small amps ic ould play, the micro really appealed to me, but it doesn't have the killer sound of the cmd102, and is prohibitevly pricey, considering i am just playing along with the PC... heck i could always PLUG INTO THE PC
