Markbass Super Synth

That's what I'm hoping too. Ideally they will have already seen how other companies have gotten reamed on here for putting out a product that wasn't fully thought-out and beta-tested, and they're playing it safe. (Again, that's just my hope, not an insider statement.)

TBH I think the main issue people have with effects like these is note tracking, and I don't think it's a problem that can be solved. It's been side-stepped by a few products (POG line, Korg G5, analogue octavers) but I imagine that's because true note tracking on a regular bass guitar is never going to work properly.

Good luck to them though. :)

Not true at all. Note tracking works fine on several units. The Akai Deep Impact is one of them.

Yeah it's "fine" but that's not good enough for a lot of applications, I think that's what turns people off.

Personally I deal with it because I want the sounds, but digital note tracking does suck, and I can understand why most people don't want to deal with it.

heh. As long as this thing has flawless tracking and amazing sound, it's a guaranteed buy for me :D

... seriously, tho, I need it confirmed that this thing can track pretty well, and I need a good un-filtered square-wave-type sound. A fatter, more configurable, and especially better-tracking SYB-5 is what I'd like to have; if the supersynth can do that, I'll probably get it. Hope it's 9V, too.

aw, man... In that case it's going to have to be REALLY great to justify the price and the extra hassle to use a 12v power supply..

While I agree with you completely, the fact is that their Compressore is that good, to where I would overlook the power supply and the large size of the pedal. But each of us draws the line somewhere different.

Manual is available.
I'm gonna give it a read.

I gave it quick read through and it sounds like it could be promising, if a bit limited.. 3 oscillators and coarse/fine detuning is appealing, though it doesn't mention the available waveforms or any PWM etc... maybe this is just a 'peak' at the real manual? I thought I read something about this having wavetables a while back. The lack of an exp/cv input is a major draw back and would make an external analog filter a necessity for my needs; not a bad idea for warming/thickening a digital pedal anyway, but like the Octavius Squeezer, it could not be a standalone synth pedal for me if it does not have an exp/cv input. Im interested to see how this turns out, thanks for the link JazzAd.
