Marshall 1525 Jubilee 2x15 Cab

I'm the original owner of a Marshall model 1525 Jubilee 2x15 cabinet (with silver tolex). I gigged with it for about 5 years in the late eighties to early nineties. I still have the head I used too, an early eighties GK 400RB.

This was actually a good sounding setup with the Marshall cab kicking out some thunderous low end. If I had had the foresight, and the money, I would have purchased the matching 4x10 cab and tube head that went with it. Alas, I did not.

This cab is so rare that it is nearly impossible to find any information on it whatsoever. I have scoured the internet and have found nothing except a photo on ebay.ch.

I've been thinking about getting rid of it even after having it for so long because I really don't use it and it's taking up valuable space in our small house. But I question whether I should hang onto it because it is rare and it does sound awesome.

Has anyone played through one of these? Or, know anything about them?

IMO you have a nice bass cabinet covered in silver Tolex and very valuable to someone with a matching head. Personaly, I don't think these cabinets were any different / better than the years before and after.
The guitar heads however were very different and adored by many.
Never played through a Jubilee bass head but imagine it was very good.
Check ebay for an idea of rarity and value.

I've never had the opportunity to play bass through another Marshall cab, nor have I seen another Marshall cab like this one, whether pre or post Jubilee. At the time I purchased this cab, I did play through the full Jubilee setup (2x15, 410 & tube head) and I was very impressed. But as you can imagine, I walked out the door spending a lot less with the setup you see in the attached picture. I'm kicking myself now. Not that I need it, or have the space for it, but what a cool rig that would be.

I think you are right. This cab would make someones day if they already have the rest of the set. And if I part with it, I would want to see it go to someone who could put it all together. I think there's some history here worth preserving.

I also have this bass cabinet, something I just inherited from my father when he played in a band in the 80's. Do either one of you know anything about price listings? I am also looking to sell and cannot find anything about this specific bass.

And I have been looking for one of these for years!! The tube head was nice, but the solid state 600 watt 25/50 jubilee model 3560, has been a work horse with no problems and I have probably played 700-800 shows on it over the last 8 years, and just recently let it rest in my room, while i purchased a new GK mb800(very nice-800w@4ohm=4.5lbs!!) but Im very interested in purchasing the cab do you still have it?
