Mike will know which will be best,
it should work fine with the powered version. I’ve used a Headway EDB-2 or the Grace Designs Felix and they both worked extremely well with MAS 1/8. When you get a few bucks, I’d totally reccommend you try a Hedway EDB-2. They work exceptionally well with the MAS speakers.
Hopefully, you can just use the Dex to drive the MAS without it requiring a second pre to drive the MAS to full volume. Mike's got a few new tricks up his
sleve, since he built the first powered 1/6's. I believe he's using Pascal Power Amps now and he's got a way to include a switch to disengage the power amp
and turn the powered MAS into a passive speaker. You'll want to go with those new upgrades, at least I would.

Yes---another important upgrade. With the new Pascal module (used now in all powered 8" based cabs) I can add a master volume control but more importantly I can get a lot more gain out of the Pascal input.(thanks to Zoran) I can probably get enough gain that nearly anything would drive it. Also--all 8" and 10" cabs include a very nice 1" dome tweeter. I've changed from the Ciare because it's overkill. I'm only using it for 10k to 20khz and I finally found a dome efficient enough to use.

Is the power upgrade the same price now with the Pascal? And is the dome tweeter gonna be standard or an upgrade?
The Pascal is $400 as opposed to $350 for the 700 watt Ice. This unit actually costs $50 more--but there is a lot more labor. Trust me---it's well worth it. Standard on the 18's now includes a PA pole hat and a 1" dome tweeter. I've switched to Baltic Birch for all of my cabs. Prices on Okume went way up and they aren't doing 30 day payment. Also--big minimums. Birch is actually stronger, but a bit heavier. The 18 goes from 22 to 24#. The only reason I went with Okume is weight.

Something I'd like to point out here. I think Mike has "broken the 4th wall here with his cabinets. Mike has been able to reduce the weight of a bass cabinet to 22/24 lbs.
While there have been other cabinets/combos, that were around the same weight i.e. the original GK 200MB's (26 lbs. they didn't have the sound that Mikes cabs have.
For a long time their was a break over point at around 30 lbs, where you couldn't get a great sound below that weight. So, when I think back to the B-15N(C) that I own,
weighing in at 75 lbs and 25 watts vs a Headway EDB-2/MAS 18 that's under 25 lbs 500watts. We've come a long way.
