Matt Freeman Squier Sig!!!!!

Why do the Squier and Fender sites not have any info about this bass? A quick Google search brings up a few links to "Anderton's Music" out of the UK. The only other search results are links to this thread and a few others that are similar.
What makes you think this is real?

This happens all the time, gear is announced or shown on a online store's website WAY before it's officially announced and put on the manufacturer's website. It's happened quite bit with Squier in the last year or so. No reason not to think it's real.

"Best punk bassist" is extremely subjective. You're leaving out some amazing players that simply weren't in platinum-selling bands. Karl Alvarez and Jim Cherry come to mind.

Also, I was just pointing out that the only links to the bass I found are on overseas online music stores with broken picture links. Just thought it was a little fishy. I honestly didn't know that companies did that.

I agree that he deserves some recognition for his amazing contribution to the use of bass in punk.

I love Matt Freeman in a man-crush bass player kind of way. He's the reason I picked up bass as akid.

But looking at the sig model, if that's infact not BS on those UK sites.....BOOOOOOOOOOO. Squier has more appealing P-basses without a sig on them.

That would be a disappoinment, because I totally planned on getting one being a fanboy and all.

Exactly what about it don't you like? I think it's the best looking Squier I have ever seen. The tinted maple kills. The guy is a bass nerd, I think he probably carefully chose what he wanted before putting his name on it. If you were Freeman, what would you have done?

Matt Freeman is my bass idol!! i can't wait for this bass, it may be 'just another p bass' but should be CV quality, and that puts it on par with mim fenders, and for around £380 , i would choose this over a fender! and as a matt freeman signature, playing it would be like wearing your influences on your sleeves... well, for me it would be anyway.
maple neck with vintage white body, most excellent :D

I'm in a band called Th' Legendary ShackShakers

Amazing!!!! Can't count how many times I've seen you with The Rev!!! Nice work, sir!!

Re: The Matt Freeman model - yes, truly awesome.

Also, new Rancid stuff is actually good, it's just not the old Rancid. Let it grow on you if you have it and didn't like it the first time through. They're relaxing it a little - they're old!! Listen to the Tim Armstrong solo album, it's essentially him singing with the Aggrolites (and other guests).

Not to troll / mess the thread up, but while we're at it....does anyone have the new Matt Freeman solo album? Good? Bad? Indifferent? The promo pics of it show him holding an upright, and he's been photographed more than once with some kinda rad rockabilly/psycho band T-shirt.....
