Matt Freeman Squier Sig!!!!!

The fact that it has vintage frets is the biggest plus for me.
Black/maple is a fantastic combo but to have a neck that plays as well as my CV's, due in no small way to the vintage frets is all i need to know.

The only downside, for me, is that i love both colours. I think White with black PG is a bit more punk but im leaning towards the black.
And yes, im one of the Fiesta red haters.

Once i get a Gotoh 201 on it and my Wizard Thumper i think ill be set for a few years. I'll sell my CV P but keep my CV Jazz as i might put the neck on the MF if i start to struggle with it.

By the way, there is also a video interview with Matt on Squiers website now.

looks like we are due to get them here in the UK anytime now.

He's not talking about him... he means the bass itself is a standard P... nothing "sig-worthy" to speak of.

Bruce Foxton is the reason im getting it (although he had a white PG) but yes, so many players have used this colour combo that its really nothing out of the ordinary.
I guess as its based on a 70's P it fits in nicely with the Cv theme but Squier haven't really said why they chose Matt over any of the other famous Black/maple players.

I guess at least its more or less a standard P, none of the pointless customisations some of the Sig models have had.

Exactly what about it don't you like? I think it's the best looking Squier I have ever seen. The tinted maple kills. The guy is a bass nerd, I think he probably carefully chose what he wanted before putting his name on it. If you were Freeman, what would you have done?

I kind of take that back now. The first image I saw was just the black on black.

The vintage white and maple board is right in my wheel house.

I can't remember and I'm too lazy to google it...

Didn't he play for social distortion for a while? They have some killer bass.

I had no idea that he played with Social D! I got into Matt via Op Ivy. If any of the Rancid fans out there haven't listened to Operation Ivy, I'd highly recommend it.

BIG congrats to Matt on a sig, as he's earned it! In addition to Matt, I give props to Mike Watt, Joe Lally, Karl Alvarez & Fat Mike. Those guys kept me interested in bass in my punk years!

Big plus 1

The white one looks like the bass he has had since Op Ivy -
