Hi all, first time post so please excuse if I break any rules, just wanted to know if anyone had more info on my bass? I got it over 10 years ago from a friend who didn't know much about it either. I did send the serial over to Mayones to see if they could help, but all they could tell me was that it was an older model BE4, but they didn't keep as stringent records when it was produced as they do now.

I can't seem to find any other neck-through versions of this, as they all seem to be bolt-ons... wondered if anyone was familiar with this model and how much it might be worth?

Thanks!

Hi everyone or anyone -
I've got something to think about, and I would like to get opinions if possible. I have a Cali 4 mini-bass and I love the quality. I feel that if I could get my hands on a full-size 5-string of such nice quality, I'd be really happy (I play 4 now, but am considering the change). I'm not a huge fan of the single-cut style in a regular bass. In doing as much research as I can on the Internet (which is kind of a lot), the Patriot really stands out -- it's got a look that really appeals to me, "classic but sleek and unique". Other options would be Adamovic or Marleaux (like the M-Bass, which would actually cost more), but I would like to celebrate being alive with something ultra cool. In terms of sound: I love Moto Fukushima's sound and playing and want something that is as smooth as a fine classical guitar to play with different finger styles; that sounds deep and melodic like like Michael Manring, but I also love all those dudes playing Mayones basses on Youtube, old-school funk, and I play in a cover rock/blues band. If you made it this far in reading, perhaps you have an informed opinion about the Patriot? :) Yay or nay or alternatives?
Thanks!

Personally, I am a big fan of their Jabba models (I own two, but both 4-strings). If you want something versatile for smooth Fukushima sounds, but also for funk, I would recommend to check out the Jabba Mala 5 - a gorgeous bass, classic design, modern pups and pre-amp, and those necks are just so smooth and nice to play:

The Purpleheart with the Wenge looks amazing!

TBH I didn't expect it to look as nice as it does.
The configurator mock-up has a lighter wenge with a less pronounced grain

So it was definitely a pleasant surprise that it's a bit darker (contrasting better with the purpleheart) and that the grain is more pronounced. It's still a 'bolder' look than I would've opted for, even with a matte finish, but I consider that a very happy accident.
