How old is that photo? If it’s still his current rig, he had that set up for many years. Although…

Almost 20 years ago, I was working at a large record store in LA, and we had a stage area set up for instore promotional performances, primarily with new/up and coming bands, but also the occasional legacy act. As he had a new album out at the time, he asked to play there, management thought about it for a nanosecond, then it was announced the night before. Gear was moved in overnight, at 4pm we shut down to the public, and I got to hear soundcheck(he was wearing the Von Dutch shirt at that moment). The bass rig was a mixture of Mesa and Ashdown, and yes, he and Brian Ray would switch off guitar and bass.
The soundcheck was interesting, as they did go through “Matchbox”, and then, when the crowd came in, I did see Ringo(with Barbara), and was hoping he’d get pulled up to the stage to do the song, but it did not happen.
As much as the actual performance was a treat, I was a bit distracted. I had a once in a lifetime experience, standing next to, and chatting with, Twiggy. Just another day at work…

And this was His choice. I guess that's saying something.

If only Sir Paul was a TBer. Then he could get lectured on mixing driver sizes and how he needs to upgrade to Subway cabinets.

He does have some Subway gear but doesn’t tour with it.

Been at his shows since the 80's and Macca's always been a Mesa man for bass and Vox for guitar far as I know. Since he pioneered recording its anyone's guess what he might use to enhance his sound with underneath all the frontage.

Sir Paul HAS ALWAYS BEEN A HUGE INSPIRATION TO me with both his voice and his playing. The Man is a master of space and time. Such a wonderful wealth of information by just playing and or singing along with the HUGE COLLECTION OF MASTERPIECES he put down for our listening pleasure . And has many times earned the respect of any player willing to listen. He is a Treasure in my book.

That Mesa cab with the 4 10's around a central 15" is one of the most impressive cabs I ever tried.
Gorilla Monsoon heavy and a grand used when I tried it was no longer competitive in the market, but the tone was wonderful.
