In North Korea, I was figuring them for knock-offs or black market factory seconds that never had logos to begin with.

Reminds me of Robert Palmer - without Robert Palmer.
Youtube used to have a really bizarre clip of a Donny and Marie Show opening where they did "reeling in the years" as a poppy upbeat song complete with Ice Capades dancers - but I can't find it any more. I'm guessing the Osmond Family Empire made it go away.
