Measure battery voltage without removing cover!

That is indeed my bass. I only get a voltage when I have a cable plugged in and the switch turned on. I only get a 9v reading.


With the bass plugged in, and the batteries connected, can you measure the voltage on each battery? You should be able to reach in with the probes between the battery and it's connector.

If each measures 9V, then try measuring from ground to each of the battery terminals. You should read 0V and 9V on one battery, and 9V and 18V on the other battery.
