Meazzi Hollywood (referenced) project

Also, I saw that a Starr Guitars 6-way tone pot lists the caps; 1- bypass / 2- .015 / 3- .002 / 4- .033 / 5- .047 / 6- .068 I scanned their site but didn't see it so maybe they don't offer it anymore.
I couldn’t find my old sheet on it but here’s a picture and an article. I have not tried the 4 diode version. Might have to do that…

Passive Guitar Overdrive (Black Ice)

He doesn’t mention specific diodes in the article but the 1n34a will work and the one @Jon Clegg mentioned probably will to. You should be able to replace one of the caps on the DIY tonestyler with the diodes or parallel them with a cap. Experiment with what sounds best to you.

Thanks for sending this! The Juniper gets Plek'd tomorrow. :hyper: :bassist:

update: my guitarist who is versed in electronics said that the Black Ice mod is pretty much what the Underdrive is.

Fast shipping and a surprise StellarTone branded wrench specifically for installation! That's cool. The Juniper is still w/Dan. Will get a call soon to come retrieve it.

The Juniper is back from being Plek'd and final fret-dressed by Dan, and the ToneStyler Bass 6 installed. Sounds damn good - better than pre Bass 6. I think this would be a great recording bass - clean, articulate and tone-full. StellarTone includes a cap & resistor to install if full clockwise it sounds 'too bright'. I'll leave that up to it's eventual owner as I think it sounds great, but someone may want a rounder, bassy'r tone.

Just ordered a strap from Walker and Williams for the Juniper - great quality, great price - made in CA - Santa Barbara. I could only drag this image to post - but a very nice compliment for the Juniper. Honestly - these are great straps and I wholeheartedly endorse this establishment. G-817 Rye Tan Harness Ring Strap-Padded Glove Leather Back - Walker & Williams

Last post from last August... I just learned that the Juniper was chosen by No Treble as their Bass of the Week in April! (slipped by my radar) Anyway - here it is, better late than never! ;)

Bass of the Week: Gildaxe Jupiter

Interesting comment posted about it - "It’s interesting. I’m getting an old Silvertone or EKO vibe. Ok if you dig that el cheapo esthetic. I’m sure it plays and sounds great, just not my style."

I take that lightly as a left-handed compliment - just not the way he phrased it ("el cheap esthetic" - mis-spelled aesthetic...)

Also (since August 22) and as mentioned in the description - I acquired a '60 Meazzi HSC in VGC that fits the Juniper perfectly!

:) Thanks! My second there - they were nice enough to mention and provide a link to the other one - my Devil Magnum. It sold within weeks of completing it. :bassist:

Congrats on the recognition!

BTW just saw this 60's Meazzi finish that I was previously unaware of - sort of Danelectro like copper-cream burst - which is evocative of the finish you settled on:

Coolio - it is very Dano. Thanks for posting David! And what a lovely name! It has the same style string-stop as on mine. Hope you are doing well -
