Medium-sized do it all cabs...

What are some medium-sized cabs out there that can do it all? Lightweight would be ideal, but not necessary. Ideally it would have a pretty flat response, but still cut through in a band situation. Most of the time it would be used with PA, but occasionally without PA, playing over a 15-20 piece horn section and a fairly light drummer to 100-200 people outdoors.

Bass is a Roscoe SKB-3007, and the amp is a Acoustic Image Focus, but that may change to a Focus SA with a more potent preamp.

I'm eyeing the Bergantino and Epifani 3x10's, as well as the Schroeder 21012, but I'm open to others as well.

Yeah, it's an awesome cab. A couple of us have also found that it is several pounds lighter than the 62 pounds quoted on the website. Mine weighs 56, and Eublet's weighs 55.

I like the Neox-212t better than any of the other cabs demo'd on that site, but other tastes will vary, of course! Plus ... none of those bass, string and preamp setups are anything like my sound. But still, it lets you see what effect the cab itself has on the sound, when you can compare the same bass line, same bass and pre, just different cabs.

Another cab I am extremely curious about is that little Epifani UL310 ... that's getting a lot of great reviews. I'm not looking for a mid-size cab at the moment, but I think it would be cool to get the chance to compare it to my Neox212t.

I saw those, and they look cool, but aren't they pretty expensive? If I could get one for the same price as a Focus + cab, it might be worth it. Especially since normally I would just use my pedal/DI setup, and run this into the IP only when I needed to be heard without PA.

Another option to consider are the three way design cabs from Dr. Bass.
A neodymium loaded 2460 (2x12" + 6" mid + tweeter) is very compact, lightweight, handles lots of power and would put out enough volume for anything but the largest of gigs.
It is also VERY affordable.
It would really let that killer Roscoe 7 string shine!

Pricey, though. On the upside, since the power amp/DSP program is optimized for the cab, the built-in 1000W power amp puts out a TON of sound through those speakers. You would likely never think you needed more volume or a bigger rig.

My go-to "do anything" cabinet when I

A) don't know exactly what to expect on the gig (big band? small band? PA? no PA?)
and
B) don't need it to be my absolute lightest cabinet

is an Eden D115. I've never done a gig where one of those put out too much or too little sound, never had anyone complain that one of those was too big or too small, and, at least until I got my Flite Sound cabinets it was the lightest cabinet that I could make those previous two claims about. I use it with an Acoustic Image Focus I Series II head.

It's not quite "flat", definitely has a bit of that thick, throaty, rock'n'roll 1x15" sound to it, but it's still a clean, clear, almost hi-fi sounding cabinet. Wish I had two of them!

Heck, I wish I had four of them!

And a couple roadies to load them all in the truck. Female roadies. Naked female roadies...
