Meet Grace, and her bass

I'm sure EMBELLISHER will make a great one-on-one teacher! I'd like to suggest that the Carol Kaye materials might be good tools to use with Grace to keep her on a proven effective path! Her website is http://www.carolkaye.com/

You can contact Carol Kaye through the forum on her site and then direct her to this thread where she can see Grace and her new bass for herself. All you would have to do is ask Ms. Kaye to develop a study plan especially for Grace while Embellisher guides her through the study plan. Using Carol Kaye's books, audio CD's and her excellent DVD's will make instructing Grace easier and keep her on target. I highly recommend the CK materials and I personally have relied upon her invaluable guidance.

Wow that bass is absolutely gorgeous and was the perfect choice for her! However the bass dims in comparison to the glow on Grace's face.

This is the best thread EVER on this site (much less this year) and if there is any particular gear need she has send me a private message with what she still needs and where to send it and I'll do what I can to help you make sure she has all the gear she needs to get started right. I've got way more gear than I need anyway.

+1. That goes for me too. Any needs, PM me, as I too have way more than I need, including some fx pedals, if she's interested. I'm sure that would also apply to many other TBers, just post the need, and an address, and it will be sent.

1) Grace's upcoming surgery, while big, bad, and scary-sounding (at least to some of the parents here, I'm sure) will most certainly help her to thrive, put on weight and to grow properly, and most importantly to sit up straight. That's pretty darn close to endgame for many disabilities, a point where they can then grow enough muscle mass to sit up by themselves which leads to increased motivation, pushing of her chair by herself and generally move physicality which leads to a postive catch-22, and a good deal of better medical issues both physical and psychological. "Nipping it in the bud" is what you want, to be able to correct whatever is wrong early enough in the patient's life but old enough where recovery isn't physical awful and as soon as possible after.

Fantastic story! Just when the world seems to be pressing in and the human
condition tests one's faith, the story of this remarkable little girl and the grace of
others in fufilling her simple wish really made my day.God bless you all for seeing this
girls's dream come true by the grace of God and your willingness to walk the walk.

I have always been amazed by the TalkBass forum and it's members. There is nothing like it on any other subject, and as this story shows, you folks out there are the best. Man, that is one cool looking bass! That is one happy looking girl!
I have a daughter with special needs, and I can tell you from experience, acts of kindness like this just do not happen very often, they are far and few between, and delivered by people whom we hope we will be when we grow up. Great job! God Bless!
