Meet Grace, and her bass

She just loves it. Purple is her favorite color. Of course, I told Bassic83 that before he bought the bass.

Grace was so excited to get her own bass! I told Bassic83 that I wish he had been here in person to see her. She wouldn't let go of my hand the whole rest of the night after I presented the bass to her.

We hope to start lessons this week.:bassist:

Jeff, Bassic, I know that it's been said dozens of times already, but if there is ANYTHING I can do to help, PM me, and I'm there.

I've got a step son with Cerebral Palsy, so I'm familiar with a lot of the issues that Grace is going through. I'll keep positive vibes going for her as she goes through surgery.

As you know, we build a smaller bodied bass (the LG actually stands for "Little Girl", and was designed by Keith for a local female bassist that was very small in stature that wanted a smaller bass that felt and sounded as solid as a larger one), and we can get shorter scales done. If she ever wants to "step up" from the Ibby to a 5, we've done them with scales as short as 30" with success, and I will do everything I can to help.

Wow - this story completely changed my outlook for today (Monday). Very inspiring! Thank you! Sounds like she'll have a great teacher in ol' embellisher! :)

i think that many of us, myself included, would love to have updates on how Grace is doing. Both with music and with her other challenges.
Plus if she needs any music (Jaco, Jamerson, Wooten, or any of the other greats) PM me, I would be happy to send as much inspiration her way as she has sent ours!

Hey, that's a good idea, we should all offer to open our CD collections to her, make copies/mp3's and what not to give her sonic inspiration to go with the inspiration from the bass itself.

I don't know if she wants it yet or has any need for it, but by a fortunate accident, I now have 2 EHX Bassball Nanos, and a Boss Bass Chorus, and I would be honored to send her those for free! It's not much, and I know using the Bassballs in gospel would lead to some funny looks, but she might like the Bass Chorus. Included would be the extra cables to hook it up, and the adaptors as well.
If she doesn't or cannot use them for whatever reason, it's no big deal, but if it seems like she would like them, PM me, and I can send them to you, all for free! I think spreading the gift of music is a gift up there with the gift of Jesus, and it is a great and noble thing you guys have done, so let me know if she would like two free effects pedals plus accessories, all shipping paid by me!

I have a couple of very good, very old Mel Bay books that are great "student starter material."

I'd be glad to copy them, mail 'em, give you any starter tips; if such things would be helpful to you.

That is so awesome!

My son Jeremy was born with Spina Bifida, scoliosis, and a neurogenic bladder. He also just had corrective back surgery and is recovering nicely! While he doesn't play an instrument, he is talented in many other ways. I feel for the struggle her parents have to go through. We're thankful that Jeremy is not in a wheelchair and walks quite well.

I will continously pray for Grace's health and her parents to have the strength to carry on.

Embellisher, this a great praise report. I am sure she'll learn just fine from you in more ways than one!

Way to go for the donor, BASSIC 83~!
