Men Shaving... I'll never understand

Shaving the face makes a man look younger, not feminine.

Why worry about what's manly? And, if you must worry, why shaving? Why not inability to drive stick? Lack of skill with a SkilSaw? Never used a motorcycle as sole source of transportation? Pays someone to change his oil? Can't solder his own instrument cables? ...

I have a long face, weak mouth, and comparatively strong eyes/nose, so a short beard balances my whole head out. I'm quite capable of growing a gargantuan Viking beard, but I'm a jewelry salesman and can't have my customers inquiring to my boss about the talking Kodiak in a necktie.

I don't believe shaving is necessarily masculine or feminine, just like most everything. We tend to get caught up in tagging things with gender a bit too often, methinks. However, if you're going to shave, do it right and get a straight razor! I use one to clean up my neck, and it's by far the most effective and efficient way to get the job done.

It takes me two weeks to grow anything remotely beardy, and still then it is full of holes and hairless patches and i look like a dirty hobo!

Shaving it is, every two to three days.

Also, i wet shave and really enjoy doing it!

My facial hair looks like it could blow away with a stiff breeze.

Mine now comes in grey, so I shave it to maintain my youthful look.

I think this is the entire point of shaving, for both genders, even if you're not old enough to grey. It makes you look young, adolescent, and theoretically, hot. Of course I don't shave often and tastes differ no matter the era or current fashion.

I believe that it should be a case by case thing. People should do what's best for their skin.

I have ridiculous acne, and when I shave I have a moderate breakout in roughly the shape of a beard and stache about 2 days after I shave. So I only shave every 3 weeks or so. But when I do shave, my skin is super clear until days 2-3.

Anyways, if I didn't have to look moderately decent for work, school and church, I wouldn't shave at all.

I think scientifically, technically facial hair is more "masculine". There's a reason why women generally can't grow facial hair. Why? I guess I'll leave that up to the scientists. I'd like to see some of your wives start to grow beards and we'll see how you change your mind about how "feminine" they are

Otherwise, I'm in favor of wearing the shoe if it fits.

I do both. Winter it's usually a beard, then the warmer months I'll shave clean.

My facial hair grows obscenely fast. My skin is very sensitive. If I wanted a smooth face, I'd have to shave at least every day. My girlfriend prefers a beard. I prefer a beard. If you don't like it, you won't get a moustache ride.

In high school, I would shave in the morning and could feel stubble by lunch.

Even when I stop shaving, I have to shave that little bit on the corners of my mouth, otherwise I get this terrible chafing. Does anyone else get that? Or am I doing it wrong? It gets all red and sometimes dries out and gets painful. The hairs are all abrasive; hate it.

And Brian Wilson's beard is just glorious. Brett Kiesel of the Steelers also has a glorious bit of facial hair. They own the benchmarks. Some of us have patchy facial hair, so don't hate. Not all men can grow beards equally.

As for it being feminine... uh, no. I'm not sure where that delusion comes from. Maybe there is some kind of insecurity or gender confusion going on... not sure and not dogging on anyone, but to say that I am feminine for shaving is just silly.
