Meris Enzo Synth Pedal

I think you guys should consider the split option and have the Synth sound come out of the PA and not through the bass Amp ...

I’ve been doing this at home with my monitors ... the Enzo plugged to my sound card coming out of the monitors and the bass and pedalboard coming through the Amp , I canceled the DRY from the Enzo so the monitors have only the Synth ... and I like it MUCH better then using it as a pedal with a Mix knob for wet/dry. it is completely apart from the sounds I get with my pedals I feel like I’m playing with a keyboard player who’s just doubling my lines :)

Thats not going to work for me. Its really that bad to use the wet/dry? This is not good if so. Hoping 100% wet does what i want.

You have heard the demos that have been posted, and lots of them have the wet + dry running, and it sounds pretty equal in volume, and the synth did seem louder in a few other clips.

Either way, a big selling point for me was the synth being able to be output on a second line. I've really found it useful for synth sounds to have their own signal chain, then blended in the mix.

Yeah thats cool but personally i like the pure synth sound, no blend. I will mess with it though, its not a concern for me unless it becomes one, so not worth worrying about now.

Two outs is definitely cool to have as an option but i like running everything through my Noble preamp.

I don't know if I've mentioned that I'm really excited about this pedal, and I don't have any other place to vent it.

I'm really curious about the filter, and if they were able to copy some of the important aspects of my beloved Moog Filter. With that the playing dynamics, envelope follower and the tone alone.

Next, of all things, the pitch shifting. I have always loved pitch shifting, but never found the pedal that really gave me a sound I wanted. I always settled for what I could get. The Digitech Bass Whammy was always on my radar, and even considered a Red Panda Tensor for the duty. But having this littl aadd on to a synth pedal that I can recall a preset for is just icing on a multilayer cake.

The oscillator options. I've always wanted to be able to have a slow beat sync'd throb that chorus pedals just dont quite mimic. Again settling for something close. Sure, a real synth can do it. But y'know what, I have one, enjoy it for doing synth things, but I love bass, the feel, the technique. I really feel synth bass played with a strung bass should be a thing, a dynamic right hand technique thing. Sure, these oscillators won't change tone like a Subterranea will, but why not have both?

Delay, yeah, okay I can use that, but likely will look to other places, but who knows, it may really be a cool place to run it - even clean...

Ringmod. Yes I'm happy it is there, but wished it had a bit more to it, and wasnt force tied to the filter envelope. I get it tho, this makes it dynamic at least.

The sustain feature is a fantastic addition in theory. A compressor is something I love running in front of faux synth pedals to help hold those long notes. And having a compressor to use when the box isbt doing anything might be a cool trick up the sleeve.

Routing options. MIDI control to change it all, expression control. Just so many possibilities that I'm itching to try. I really hope all my years of technique practice pay off in a good tracking and predictable box like the good demos show it to be. It will be ice cream next to the iced layer cake if I can lighten my board a bit by taking off some fav pedals to use this in place.

Couldn't agree more, except for me it is the Portamento I'm most excited about. No synth pedal has really had this option and it is such a classic factor that synths bring to the table. I wish it had a controllable amplifier section of sorts, cause everybody knows I love my Blade Runner Brass sounds, haha. I'm hoping I can have a nice slow filter sweep to somewhat emulate that slow attack.

It is a thing, just not a particularly affordable thing. Have a look at the Industrial Radio Midibass:

Yeah, I didnt even get into the more advanced stuff it does!

What's on your board lately? Surely, between the HOG2, H9 and ES-8 you can get what you need?

Yup, cool product. There's no way I can justify $6500 CAD plus needing a computer to host pricy VSTs.

Computer is only needed to tailor the interface to your preference. It is possible to simply plug it straight into any synth with a MIDI input, though apparently the most pleasing results are to be had using the Imprint software.

Any synth with MIDI worth plugging that into is going to add at least another $1500.

Again, all reasons why I am so stoaked for this box if it works as well as advertized.

I was considering the Sonicsmith stuff at one point, and now it has come a long way, but again for $1100+ CAD you get a single oscillator, a decent sounding, but not very flexible filter. At least it has CV, but then, adding on things from Hungry Robot Modular to expand the filter control, and maybe a secon oscillator get it up into Subsequent37 pricing. For all that jazz, I may as well have a fully programmable duophonic synth.

So a $450 CAD pedal that covers this much ground - if it does it well - is all the bang for the buck I could ask for! The FI pushes $730 CAD.

The Minitaur is a pretty cheap and lovely sounding synth that I’d be happy to pair with a midibass.

I love blade runner brass too but i am hoping this sounds a like bass synth (mini moog.. etc) and does not just do synth sounds well. I dont want to sound like a keyboardist, but instead get some great synth bass patches.

That's such a difference in pricing to what we have here in the UK! I guess just reflecting the location of where the two pedals are made (USA and Hungary). In the UK the Enzo is £319 and the FI is £336.

It's also exchange rates. Not to many years ago we were at par with the states, so that same pedal would have been $330...

I'm shocked that you are paying essentially pound per dollar for an Enzo, thats a horrible exchange rate on that pedal - That's $545 CAD when converted from Pounds!

The FI gets marked up and taxed for retailers here. There are ways to buy direct that can get the price under $600. Either way, that's a lot of money for a mono synth MIDI module in my eyes. An Arturia Minibrute is $400 CAD used, no presets tho.
