Meris Enzo Synth Pedal

So to only use an iphone or iPad to tweak the Enzo and store plus switch presets on the fly I think you need the following :

Meris MIDI I/O - $90
Bluetooth/MIDI adapter - ~$50
MIDIMittr App, to connect the phone to the MIDI I/O via Bluetooth - free
TouchOSC - $4.99 (potential to be knob controller and preset storage + selector)

The next question is on an iOS SYSEX App and controller, which is the final piece.

Is there such an app that does both or do you need one app for knob tweaking and one for preset storage and management? If the latter is the case, I think I would just tweak the knobs on the meris physically and then purchase the sysex app, as being able to switch through multiple presets on the fly during a gig with a phone (optimally an Iwatch) is incredibly appealing and my main goal. This would make the Meris almost an everything pedal.

Unless I am missing something, I believe you can bypass the synth engine and use the Meris’s onboard effects only. So you could use a compressor with octaver and have that as a preset. Correct me if I am wrong here.

If that is the case, you could show up to a more reserved gig with a Meris and just have it as your octave effect one night, and the next night play your gig which requires different synth sounds throughout and cue them up when needed.

That would seriously be incredible if all of those things can be done and the effects like the octaver hold up in the mix.

Yes to all of that.

TouchOSC is what I am familiar with, and it can send sysex messages, I'm just not certain of the size.

It is also a programmable controller, meaning you can knob around on your screen.

Its under $10 for the app & the editor is free.

Man, thats perfect if it can store presets. I love that program. I guess some of this stuff is still the Wild West until we can get pedals and interfaces. I hope they can keep up with demand or this will probably become way too overpriced on the second hand market for many of us to afford.

there are people paying $450 for this pedal on reverb just to get it early. It’s insane.

I wish I’d known about this as it’s cheaper and better than the two other apps combined that I already shelled out for.

Yeah, I will edit my above list and add TouchOSC. Now we just need someone to get everything and test it out. I am happy to do it if everything (the Enzo and MIDI I/O) become available soon.

If you guys can work out a simple and cost-effective way to save/recall patches, that would seem to eliminate one of the main reasons I would NOT get the Enzo. If it means I can also plug a keyboard in and play it as a keyboard synth, even better!!!

What is the deal with polyphony? Maybe I missed it but can Enzo track multiple notes at a time, and how well does this work on bass?

Also, can it play different sounds/patches based on pitch? I would love to play a bass sound on the bottom and a string pad up high. Even if I could define a range in which the Enzo would NOT respond, then I could have unaffected bass low and synth sounds high...

For Poly, yes I do believe it is tracking multiple notes, the demos show chords being played. Bass chord tracking I'm not sure about yet, havent heard it.

As for playing with a keyboard - if your keyboard outputs audio, it will track that. You cannot use MIDI notes to play it. The FI however, you can do that monophonically.

You also cannot define pitch ranges that dont track. Possibly the FI could have that added as a feature request, and I do know that it has an update coming that improves tracking, and opens the range.

@_Angelo_ , just in case you didn’t see this when I posted, please send @Proton Lenny a review copy of the Enzo. My reasoning is as shown in the screenshot.

Soooooooo.....I don't think I can resist much longer. Don't have the spare funds quite yet, but this is the most curious I've been about a pedal in a LONG time. Polyphonic pads with portamento is something I've wanted to have on bass/guitar forever! You guys are killing it @_Angelo_!

I am looking forward to your review Lenny, this looks to be a very impressive pedal for those of us interested in the application of synths with bass guitar.
