Mesa 215, worth pursuing?

How can I know for sure if it's the diesel 215?

It's a Diesel 2X15. It's clearly not the newer "Powerhouse" series. They look distinctly different. FWIW, on the 2 EV loaded Diesel 2X15s I owned, not one of the 4 EVM speakers had a logo on the dust cap like that. Is it possible that speaker is the replacement, and the other is the stock EV? One of mine was 4 Ohms, the other 8.

So, is lunch over yet?

Some GC dude said it was an 8ohm cab. No idea how he knows that, and I don't necessarily trust him. There's no info on the back plate. I would want it if it was 4ohm.

I have two EV 15Bs, one no logo on cap (200 watt) the other a "proline" (400 watt) has the white "EV" on the cap. Both original cones.

Stick a speaker cable in the jack and put a multi-meter to the tip and sleeve of the other end. That will give you the ballpark for the impedance.

I used to own the RoadReady version of that cab. It was a great cab that gave a pretty good punch and throw for 15's and was super sturdy and dependable. I only got rid of it because I was convinced I needed to trade up to a Megoliath 8x10 but that Mesa cab served me quite well. If I ever get another pickup truck I'd consider getting one again.
