Mesa 400+ being discontinued??

Late 1980's. I wanna say 1988 but don't quote me on that. Call Mesa and give 'em the serial # from your amp and they should be able to tell ya.

The 400's and 400+'s are easily identifiable from one another if that's what you're inquiring about. If not...call Mesa. :D

I discovered that my 400+ is a 1993 model by the (hand written) dates I found on serveral internal components.

I heard they were being discontinued when I bought mine back in 2005. I got mine used for about $800. It was about $1300 new. They said it was a floor model, it was kind of beat up for a floor model, but it works fine. I kind of like that it is beat up. Makes it look loved.

Since they've been saying that they were discontinuing since 2005, my guess is that they're coming out with something better but aren't going to say for sure just to make sure they can sell the 400+ they have left. Who wants to buy a 400+ if there's a better, newer one coming out? Best to let people snap them up and pay a LOT while thinking they may never get a new one again. That's smart marketing ;)
