I don't think anything Mesa is produced overseas.
Could be wrong, but I think it's all done at the Petaluma, CA shop.
I've owned a number of Mesa products over the years, hope they resist any calls to move production out of California.

Mesa 400+ being discontinued??

I've owned a number of Mesa products over the years, hope they resist any calls to move production out of California.

It's sucks hearing that such a great amp is being discontinued...I'm sure happy with my 400's and am keeping them forever.
But I hope this means that it's because there might be a new tube head to replace it. That would sure be cool. I couldn't imagine Mesa not offering any tube heads.

Mesa's always been USA-made and from what I can tell, they're sort of like Rickenbacker when it comes to keeping the business in the US - so I highly doubt they're moving overseas. You have to remember that they've also been known to make a guitar amp or two on occasion! LOL I understand though, you're just bass players!!! LOL 
As far as the 400+ goes, it's about time really. It needs a facelift and I'm sure it could drop a few pounds somehow. The EQ section could use some revamping as well but other than those things, I'd leave it alone.
And whoever said they are readily available at a good price - where the hell do you live? I see one come up maybe once a month and it's always over $1k.

This may not be the case coming up, but I see them regularly on ebay in the 700-850 range.

Really? All the ones I have seen for sale recently have been about $1k, maybe a little less if it needs a retube or whatever.
You guys got me curious so I did some (used 400+) price checking:
The three resent (400+) competed auctions currently shown on a ebay search, show prices ranging from $660 (not surprising since the seller only had 1 feedback) to $926, and finally one that sold for $1100.
I also ran a nationwide craigslist price check for the Mesa 400+:
Out of the five or so I saw, the asking prices seem to currently be ranging between $900-$1000 W/rack case.

That's what I am seeing too. The ones that sell for around $700 are old and or beat to hell and in need of tubes.

I hope they make the front more dull. I don't like shinny amps with light either.

Suppose they discontinue their 400+ bass amp. Does anyone really think they're NOT going to replace it with something just like it, only with improvements (in the opinion of MesaBoogie engineers)?

I hope they bring out an all tube amp with the front end of the big block 750 and the poweramp of the 400 or 400+. With the tunermute switch!
Is it true, the rumors I'm hearing? That it will be replaced by an ethanol/nuclear powered model?
