Mesa/Boogie Official Club Thread...Part #2

Count me in...always come back to Mesa heads, owned an M-2000, Bass 400+(twice), BB750, Titan V-12, and now run an M9 Carbine(had to get it when it completely outclassed my Glockenklang Heart Rock in a side by side A/B comparison).
Started out with an M9 and decided to pick up a couple of Mesa cabs to keep it company.

Would I be crazy to trade in my BB750 for a Carbine? I would lose a lot on the BB750 and have to pay a substantial difference for the M9. I really like the BB750 but I also have a Walkabout which has a similar tone and I am really gassing for the quick and clean carbine.
Anyone compared the two?

M6 or M9...
The graphic eq on the M9 is nice, if you need it.
The compressor is nice, if you need it.
The headroom I suppose would be un-fathomable (ha!); but:
I don't really need the graphic
I don't ever need a compressor
And I've never, ever run the M6 harder than input at one oclock, and master at nine oclock; so I reckon I don't need the headroom.

I don't really need a compressor but it would be cool. I really liked the one in the M9 I tried. The Big Block 750 is pretty darn loud at 4 ohms but I play a five string and it would be really cool to have a very tight and deep amp to compliment the PH412 cab I would be using with it.
I think in the end, it would be a large expenditure of cash to end up with an amp of equal quality but with a different tonal goal.
I have an LMIII en route to me and have never played one before so i am anxious to see how it compares to the my Mesa amps. It may be all I need for a fast punchy solid state tone. if not, I will be looking to an M6 or possibly the M9 for that tone.

I think the Markbass amp might help you hold on to the BB750.
Side note, I'm barely hangin' in at the Ampeg club, one small BA112 is it, but my membership here is solid with my Walkabout, Buster wedge, and Deisel 215.

the place I get my Mesa gear has the M9 if I had time I would take my BB750 there and do a side by side.
You should see if you can find some who wants to trade.
The BB750 cost more than the m9.

Have you tried 2 of the 2 12 cabs with a 4 12.
I did not like the 2 -12 but have not heard the 4 -12.
The Mesa rep in this area said that 2 of the 2-10 cabs doesn't sound as good as 1of the 4-10. I was wondering if that was the same with the 12s
I was at a GC killing time the other day and they had a powerhouse 4x10. I was amazed at how small it was. VERY cool - I'd love to play one someday... the roadready option is interesting too!
I would be all over a trade if someone was interested. Probably not a lot of M9 owners out there yet as its such a new amp.
I'm in a quandry here and could use your recommendations. Tried the Walkabout Scout and loved the sweet tone. I do blues and country jams with friends. There are 2 or 3 guitarists and pedal steel sometimes.
I have a Mesa Fathom (into 2 Aguilar GS112s) and while I love the versatility, it doesn't sound as sweet to me as the Walkabout especially for the music I'm doing. I'd almost rather have that Walkabout but know I'd need a little more speaker to handle the jams.
