Check out the Q&A with Dan Van Reizen in issue #5. Dan confirms that they are working on not just one, but a couple of tube head designs for two different types of players. I did get confirmation of this when I was talking with Dan at the NAMM Show.

I got sort of the same response at a local clinic held by the regional Mesa rep like a year ago, even though he was there to show off new guitar amps I hung around to talk about bass. But he didn't have an idea of when it would come out, and I know that's not info they probably want blurted out anyway. But I'm ready now!

Or, ya know, a tube head with 8xKT88 power, that had the Walkabout front end...I could buy into that, maybe.

2 new tube amps for 2 different kinds of players? What if you're in the group #3? Eagerly awaiting this, I haven't bought a new amp in quite some time, and my ONLY tube bass amp is a Buster, so something more akin to a Mesa style Ampeg tube amp would be more than awesome. I've all but given up on the 600 watt Walkabout, since mesa thinks that's what the MPulse 600 is.

cool info for sure. I can always hold out for a quad rectified bass head. 8 power tubes with 4 rectos. I had one really nice recording session playing through a tube rectifed bass amp once (no idea of brand or model, it was a combo?) and have always wanted that kind of sag in a higher power amp. Of course thats a pipe dream.
In reality I would guess they would make something like a bass 400 plus plus. Bass 600? for the fans of that mesa sound, and then maybe an ultimate Matamp style head. Mesa really should be the last word on those kind of heads. Imagine an orange AD200 with every knob having a pull switch that changes the freq of the eq, or kicks in another gain stage etc. Not to mention Mesa's build quality. Could also have some of Mesas simulclass tech in a bass amp. Which would be awesome. 6550 AND KT88? 6L6 AND EL34?

Here is a photo of my new Mesa rig at it's first gig a couple of weeks ago. The Silverfaced Titan is on loan from the music store until my Blackfaced Titan is finished being made in the Titans final production run. The Titan really shakes the house through the PH412 cab. I hope this rig qualifies for a Mesa Club Number.

Was it distracting having to dodge darts throughout your set?
I got used to it after a while , so it only threw me off my game a couple times - Lol. I must say that it's better than dodging pool cue balls. I had one outdoor gig last year where I had to try to play and swat bees at the same time - now that was a challenge. Our poor drummer got stung at least 7 times!
They are EOL-ing the Titan? I was actually thinking of getting one of those. I guess there will still be some hanging around in the retail outlets.
I wonder if this is to make room for Mesa's newer tubed offerings?
I currently own a diesel 210/15 and a road ready 15/410. I am looking for a head that can power both effectively. My search points me to the M6, however, the Titan V12 and the M9 are very tasty as well. any thoughts?
Also, I have a blown speaker in my 210. Do I need to match a new speaker with the old one? Thanks for any input.

Thanks for responding. The 210 and 115 are 8ohm cabinets and the powerhouse could be 4 or 8ohms.
