So, I am a happy Mesa owner (don't have a number yet because I haven't poste pics) and totally have loved both of my rigs. I have a Walkabout Scout 12 combo and a Big Block 750. I am moving into a smaller apartment and recently sold my SWR 4x10 with the thoughts of getting a Mesa 2x12.

But, something hit me...I am not going to have a lot of space. Plus, as amazingly supporting my lady is, she isn't thrilled about the idea of having 2 amps and all my pedals in the living room.

I was thinking about getting another Scout 12 radiatior and running it with my walkabout for larger stuff and selling the BB750. I know we aren't "supposed" to run at 2 ohms, but everyone does.

Do people think that this would be a nice rig? I know it would look sick as a mini stack. Any experience out there with this solution?

Nice!!! Love that grill cloth, and especially that it doesn't have "Mesa" stamped in the front of the cab.

Man, that is too cool. So is that a custom job?

Thanks guys -- I like it too! :D

It's a Powerhouse 1000 that I bought from a TBer who manages a music store. He custom-ordered it from Mesa with this combination of tolex, grille cloth and Boogie emblem.

It sounds wonderful with the VB-2, BTW!

I'll join the club - finally got around to taking this bad camera phone picture last night. American Standard Precision 5 into my Big Block 750 with a Vintage Powerhouse 2x12.

Best sound I've ever had.

Hi everyone:

I've got a Mesa Walkabout (12'), just got it a few months ago. love it! Play a new fender mustang into it right now without effects. Overdriving with the gain has such a sweet sound, I'm extremely happy with it.

the question: How does a fuzz pedal sound with a walkabout? any effect suggestions besides fuzz?

thanks,

meta

Yes, it'll be fine. Just don't crank either the gain or master much past noon, and the Walkabout will handle the 2 ohm load just fine. Use your ears, if it seems like it's straining, back off.

Just picked up a used Scout 15 tonight, so I'll be listing the Venture 2x10 combo I have up for sale...
The Venture has some fantastic features and I love the sound/tone of the
10's... They're alittle quicker and maybe alittle punchier than the 15, but the Scout is lighter and more portable...:bassist:

Had my 1st gig last night with the Mesa Scout 15.. This sucker rocks..:hyper: It was a fill-in with a classic rock, blues and country band in a bar that was a converted McDonalds..
It may not have the highs the Venture 2x10 has, but it's perfect for that type of gig.. It's alittle more rounder which is something you would expect from the 15.. I'd really like to try this amp with a P-5 with flatwounds...
I have yet to try it with my regular gig which is a corporate rock/wedding/casual and everything in-between gig, but I think it will be a nice little brother to my Bergantino IP-153...
The Venture 2x10 is up for sale now...:hyper:

What a coincidence ha :D

I just bought a Mesa Powerhouse 4x12 at a local music store(i got half off because a traded my old cabs in)

Then the same day i find this thread!
