Now that I can't find anywhere that carries Mesa bass cabs in Austin anymore it makes it hard to go test drive.. I was thinking about getting a Powerhouse 1000 (115 with 410's) to replace my 210 and 115 cabs but I'm curious how that 412 would compare.. hmmmm.. anyone shot em out yet?

I hear ya.
I called up Bass Emporium to see if they still carried Mesa.
No dice.
I got mine from Music Makers down on Lamar, and talk to Luke.
I got mine JUST last week. Call em and see if/what they carry anything in stock there. If not, they could probably tell you what differences between the two there are, if they know.

I can tell you that at least vs my old Berg (which was 310+115), there's no comparison. The Boogie eats it for lunch, but then again those aren't the same cabs.

I did some searches a while back on the Powerhouse 1000 (or now 1200) and there's some good stuff, but I've had their 212 and so I was easily comfortable going with their 412.

I seriously doubt you'll have buyer's remorse if you go with the 412. :) It's just a flat out monster if you've got the HP to push it with.

Thanks bro! It's saying allot that you're really happy with it over the berg and all that.. Now I just gotta make my damn mind up and pull the triger.. :help:

Just...do...it!!!

:D

Trust me I almost hesitated, until they told me they had two IN STOCK, ready to ship!

It was like the decision was already made for me.

as much aesthetically I like the Vintage look, I'd always be worried about something tearing that jute stuff.

I thought about that too Rockstar when I ordered my PH212, but it just looked so cool I went with jute at the last second. The mesa cabs come with a pretty heavy duty cover, so I think if I'm careful, I'll be ok.

Looking forward to your review.

Hi,
I've just purchased a Mesa Powerhouse 115 can to go with the 210 I got recently, both second hand on ebay (Australia). The 210 has a silver grille while the 115 is black and I'm looking to standardise the appearance. I guess I'd prefer silver. What are my options, can I buy these parts from the factory? Spray the silver black? Swap with someone - that's a long shot

Thanks.

Tell me more. I'm very happy with my Berg NV425, would like to hear how the Mesa 412 compares tone-wise. I don't doubt the Mesa is more efficient, but I'm mainly interested in how they compare in top to bottom clarity.

Hi! I recently bought a Bass 400+ (talk about one badboy of an amp!) but I was thinking, do I need to cushion it from the cab? I currently have it sitting on my 4x10. Eventually I plan on getting a shock rack, but approx $500 means it'll be a fair bit before that happens. So until I rack it, should I cushion it? Thanks!
