I don't know about the Mesa or the Ashdown but I do know that the db750 sounds different. Maybe it's that "hit-you-in-the-chest" whallop from the big iron in the Aggie but it just sounds different.

There have been quite a few posts and discussions about a Walkabout clone with more power but from what I recall reading there really isn't a substitute.

On another topic, I just did the fan change out and I can't believe the difference. I have to look at the pilot light to make sure mine is on. And then I have to check and make sure that the fan is actually working. It was a very worthwhile mod. Also I did the Telefunken in V1 change out based on Jim C's recommendation. It wasn't a stunning change but it was noticeable in a very good way. I did have to drop my treble setting a bit. It did seem to add some more clarity to the tone. I was also able to kick the gain up a bit more, too. Although I have the Scout 12/4 but I've been running the WA through a Bergantino AE212. Yeah!:D

I'm sad to announce that both a shortage of money and a shortage of head room has lead me to sell my WA.
The moment I buy a higher power head, Mesa will instantly introduce the amp we want.
While I know there is a Saint James, I will be taking one for the team.
With all this said; how much did I pay for the rack ears?
I want to list them in the classifieds for a decent price and can't find them listed on their web site, nor can I bear the thought of being put on hold for as long as it took to order them.
Help a WA brother out if you can.

I thought I remembered someone saying they don't sell them anymore for some reason? That may have been some other accessory though. I think I bought mine for around $30 used

On my 5th Walkabout head now... 2nd i've bought from the same tb'er, who has already offered to buy it back lol.
Will I learn this time, and keep this one?!
Went ahead and ordered the SilenX, the fan noise was the only thing that ever bothered me about these amps.
Gotta roll some tubes again next...

Best combo yet, the Schroeder 15L+'s a close but louder second.
1 S12 and 1 S15 = Walkbout love. The 12 alone w/ my Clevenger, the 15 alone with most of my gigs these days.

I believe they were a bit over $40 new, plus about $15 shipping. Close to $60 total.
