WA into a Berg CN212 gets a lot out of the WA's very honest 300w@4ohms. WA into a Berg NV610 makes it usable for pretty much any gig. mo drivers is mo bettah for the WA

well, I kind of understand what you saying. I ran my WA out of headroom a few years ago using just the WA 1x12 combo, and then the combo with a Scout 1x12 ext cab. And while I always liked the sound of the Mesa cabs with the WA, I think they are not very efficient designs. Next up was the WA with the Berg CN212, which because of its sensitivity and the overall design of the cab, definitely got more usable life out of the amp, but really not enough to cover the loudest gigs where my rig had to carry the room. Once I paired the WA with the NV610, it extended its useful clean volume level to all gigs I can imagine doing (of course, your usage may be very different). If you like the Berg vibe (and whats not to like) maybe you can look for a used NV(610, 215, 412 or 425). I think Berg still makes/sells the NV412 and has possibly re-released the NV610T.The one band I've been gign' with is a loud country band. I just don't have the clean headroom I need using my two Berg HD112's. I hate to do it. But it's time to put the head back in the Mesa cab and put it up for sale.![]()
So I currently use my WA combo with a Baer ML112 for most stuff, and am looking to add possibly a Barefaced Retro 610 for the big stuff.
Yes.
My combo has the optional 8ohm speaker. I find it pairs very well to the Baer ML112.
