Mesa Boogie Walkabout Mega-thread Pt. Tres

Jammed with my old band this evening. The drummer looked at the Scout and said "Is that all you brought?" I told him I would give it a shot. At the end of the rehearsal, he was amazed by what was coming out of the amp. ***Note*** The drummer and the guitar player (Fender Twin) are VERY loud. I pushed it to the limits and it kicked butt. Next rehearsal, I am going to add a cab to destroy the basement.
Always curious to hear what cabs people are propping up their Walkabouts with. I just aquired a bunch of stuff in trade for a bass (here we go again as the gear carousel starts spinnin'
) and will use 2 EA Wizzys with my WA at band practice tonight.
Two Powerhouse 1x12s, and my old trusty Trace Elliot 1524 (2x15).

I'm currently on the hunt for a lightweight 212, or possibly a light 410.

I've tried adding an Epi UL112 for a second 12 and so far, it just doesn't do anything for me. I'm also very curious about what others have found most compatible with WA besides Mesa Scout extension cabs, either as an add-on to the combo or with the head alone. Like CElton, I'm looking at 212 options, but complicating the search by hoping to find something that will also work well with my D180.
The best pairing I had to add with my scout cab was a mesa diesel 115.
I had two, both reloaded with Eminence 3015 kappalites; which made a mighty stack when pulling the head out of the scout cab.
As far as just getting more bang from the WA head, it seemed to pair pretty well with all my other cabs. You can check my profile for those.

I've said this many times, but of all the cabs I've paired with my WA head, the GB Uber 212 is the absolute best match, to my ears. Thick,warm, punchy good times.
VERY Narce!!!!! WILL POST mine asap. I use mine mostly with my Bergantino AE112, or sometimes w/ either Mark Bass HR151STD or EVTL606. The AE112 is my fave so far!!!
Used the WA head with a pair of wizzy 12 cabs i just got in trade and was very pleased. The boxes seemed mid-forward (albeit much less than Schro 12s). I cut back a bit at about 500hz and bumped a tad at 200. Very nice, indeed. I have put my M9 FS-really don't need more electrons than the WA can pump and although the M9 is amazing, i prefer the WA tone.
I have a question for everyone who uses the WA head but not the combo:

Yup - the head case for me too. Apart from the obvious protection and cool-look factors, another benefit is that because the case is so much larger than the head, it provides a built-in buffer to ensure you have adequate airspace for ventilation on all sides. Never have to worry if you're blocking the side-vents or not . . .
I got mine off EBay for $105 shipped - don't know how often they pop up there though - I think I got lucky.

Mine's just bungee corded to the top of my cab, and travels in a padded bag. The headcase is very attractive
I really dig the headcase, but it's a bit big for my needs. I've got my WA on top of the SVT210 AV cab, and it would be too huge to sit on there in the case.
I'm thinking some sort of briefcase with foam on the inside might do the trick though.

Oh, then why not Mesa's own padded gig bag for the Walkabout?

Only 25 bucks. I don't have one myself, but others on this forum say it's a quality product, though a bit of tight fit.
By the way, how are you liking the sound of the SVT210? I'm thinking of getting one as an alternative to my (heavy!) 1x15 cab for smaller gigs, or to use together with the 1x15 for larger gigs (if my band ever plays any!).

I would always protect mine if I did a gig that required using a trailer or loading up in someone else's vehicle inside my ATA briefcase. I also bought a Pelican case and it fit the Walkabout perfectly with enough room for power and speaker cables. I'd go with a Pelican case if you didn't want a cool Mesa headcase but wanted some solid protection without the weight.
