I was advised by a good sound engineer many years ago that people tend to use EQ incorrectly by first trying to boost the characteristics that they like, to override the bad stuff. He said always remove what you don’t like first, then you can add if you want/need to. Often you won’t need to add anything more once the nasties are gone. Add volume if you need it and you’re good to go.Thanks for the reply and I’m going to give that a try. I was kind of doing the inverse of that method and was boosting the frequencies I liked in order to get a little more dub flavor in the low end.
