Mesa Diesel 2X18

For those of you who have had this cab (the 215), what do you think?

What's the max SPL it'll put out? I've been thinking a 215 would be cool for a recently formed alternative band I just joined (we're not gigging just yet - but the writing and musicianship is solid, so we're putting together a tight show). I saw one of these the other day for a good price, also found a Mesa Fathom in the fancy Mesa head case for a decent price...

For comparison, my Epifani UL112 rig (2 of them stacked) is keeping up just fine with 2 guitars and drums. The UL112 efficiency is about 102db each. Is the Mesa gonna be that much louder or deeper than the Epifani cabs (which I've used for outdoor gigs no problem)?

I'd like to have a rig at the rehearsal space just so I don't have to lug mine over. Can't leave it there cause I use my main rig with my (presently) gigging band all the time.

Update: seller is a girlfriend of a bass player on tour. The cab is in a storage unit... smart money it's a 215.

BTW, there is another road ready 215 for sale at Tall Toad Music in Petaluma. (Gotta love the Bay Area for it's music scene and used equipment.)

The mesa Deisel 215 is a magical cab. So long as it has the original spkrs, anyway. Idk the numbers, only that it's big, fat, and tight &loud. One of the best cab designs Mesa ever did.

Do all the original EV speakers have the "EV" logo on the dust caps? I did NOT notice the "EV" logo on the speakers, but that may not mean much.

The cab I found did have the single 1/4" input. Perhaps I'd upgrade that to Speakon.

These are simply two TL606 cabs (EV design, free plans on the net) stacked into one heavy (around 135 lbs), cumbersome cab. I loved the cab's mids, very cool for rock, but bear in mind it doesn't go very low with the stock EVM15 drivers. I sold mine for $350 or $400.
