Mesa MPulse600**New Amp Day!!!

Great, good to know. It's in a 3 space rack, so there is plenty of room on top(even though there is no vents on top). And I kept the front and back open for 15 min after we played. I love how this head and cab combo sit it the mix with my band as well. Im around noon with both the gain and vol and its plenty loud. The para is great for slightly boosting the high mids around 1600. So good.

I had one for the past year (a Venture 212 combo) and it was a fantastic fat and warm amp. I sold it only because I have an M9 Carbine and a Walkabout which is still my favorite sounding amp of all time. I could have been quite happy playing through the mpulse though, great amp.

When I had my MPulse600, I used a two space SKB rack. That particular 2 space standard rack has lots of room on the sides (key for the MPulse), and decent room on top and bottom. Highly recommended for that head if you can get away with a lightweight 2 space rack. It actually has better cooling properties than the 3 space+ SKB racks, since it has strap handles and not the large indent handles of the larger racks.

I've had my MP600 for a couple of weeks now. (.... and lovin it). Racked in a gator 2u rack bag. It seems fine. I never need to run it over 12:00 so don't seem to have any heat issues.

I had a 360 many moons ago but sold it to go the light weight route. None of the lightweights really hit the spot so managed to find a 600 at a decent price (240V - rare as hens teeth in Australia). Won't be letting this one go in a hurry.

...oh and.... I managed to find a schematic - if anyone needs one.

Don't use rack bags, the MP600 runs hot.

Also, I think the TB1200 probably is gonna sound "more vintage" than the MP600, at least as a baseline tone.

Yeah the TB1200 does vintage tone real well.. Almost like a hi powered All tube amp.. But not quite....
If i tweak it with the Vari Q and back off on the Input Gain it can get real clean and open sounding too... But i Agree, its forte is Vintage... And it is 2 ohm OK.. and one LOUD mutha!
Im just on a fender boycott at this time.. Not happy with what they are currently doing with a few of their acquisitions... So its my own private rebellion.. HA

I would think the Mesa BB750 would be nice and maybe more tweakable than the TB1200... but i worry that it cant do clean at a loud enough volume...

One thing with the Mpulse 600 and even the m9.. if you mess with the compressor a little , you can get a pretty good vintage tone.. Well close enough for me.
That is one of the best sounding compressors built into an amp that i have ever heard.. And it can be very transparent or it can also affect the tone too
