Mesa Subway Bass DI Preamp

For once I'd love to see a demo without slapping. Given how rock and metal guys have embraced their guitar amps, you'd think they'd have a short clip of a guy playing overdriven eight notes with a pick, but, no. :eyebrow: :rollno: :banghead:

Based on my brief demo time in the shop with the D800 head, the overdriven preamp sound of this is probably not a desirable feature for most users. I found the clipping harsh and not terribly musical.

I kept skipping ahead and hoping to land on an overdiven riff.

I was originally dreaming for the preamp of my D-180 or a preamp-esque from a Bass 400 in a DI/preamp pedal. That way I could get close to the tones I love without lugging that beast around. I'm hoping this will get me closer and make me pretty darn happy.
