Mesa Subway D-350!

How about an 810 combo?
Been done, before. Ashdown Mark King combo amp.

The GK Legacy 112 combo is $1,149 at Sweetwater. 800 watt amp. Hmm. A 350 watt combo for more than this does not sound like a great deal...

I know this has been addressed, but if you're basically comparing dollars to watts (or even speakers), then there are better deals than the GK, too. You could buy a 2,000 watt Behringer head and a Peavey 1x15" for under $700 total. Great deal, but I'd rather have the GK. I'd also rather have the Mesa than the GK. I've owned gear from both and the Mesa sounded better to my ears and was of higher quality. That's not to say the GK was bad, but sometimes you pay more for higher quality, specific customer support, or a particular sound...

Although I want a Mesa D-350 head if offered, I'm not going to put down my GK heads. They've been through some rough times over the years and they just take a licking and keep on ticking. Mesa and GK are apples and oranges. GK and Mesa go all the way up to concert level products, while GK makes all the way down to beginners combos. But they are rock solid, and in my experience quality products.

For sure. I wasn't putting down the GK heads, either. I'm just saying that, IME, Mesa's stuff has been of higher quality. More a testament to Mesa than a knock on GK...

He already did. The bean counters found it was more profitable to only offer a big one. Seems a small size reduction has not changed their minds.
NOTHING has been decided.

To repeat, it's not just the cost. There would have to be a significant size difference and would have to address those who really need a fanless amp. Also targeted to those who have cabinets that have a much lower power handling rating than what would be suitable for a higher powered amp.
