Mesa Subway D-800+

You guys are going to kill me ;)
Maybe this would this be easier?
I'd like to see something even more simple and compact.
But still with that classic Mesa sound....and more power.

Shut up and take my money?

Whatever, it works just fine on my toothbrush.....
Besides I'm just an Ideas Guy. If I ironed out all the details myself what would the Tech Guys do? They wander down the hall for coffee and don't come back too much as it is.
Mmmmm, coffee ;)

I think I just had a religious experience. I got my D-800+ yesterday and hooked it up to my Ampeg Heritage 810 cab. I grabbed my 68 Tele bass and set all the controls as advised. Here we go, I flipped the mute switch and started to give it some gain. So far so good. I brought the voicing up a little bit at a time until I was at about 11 oclock and I started smiling. Gave it a little bass...naaa, a little treble...naa a little low mid boost...oooo I liked that, a little high mid boost...ooo I liked that too. then I hit that deep switch and my jaw dropped. There's no way I could make this bass sound better...until I hit that bright switch...I think I saw god. The volume I can get with this amp is amazing and stays very clean. The cabinet really is an amazing piece of equipment itself all loaded with the stock eminence drivers. One thing I was very surprised about was the sparkle I was getting without a horn. I am playing at a Halloween party this Saturday night so I can report back after the gig. Both our guitarists have 412 cabs and our drummer is not that loud so we are able to get a good low volume mix while still sounding like a rock band should at a club. Great experience so far and I can't wait to hear my Stingray and P bass through this set up.

Now the big question...what Subway cabinets to get? I was leaning more towards 2 15's but those 210's have my interest too.

I've used a pair of the 15s, and sometimes three of the 15s with a loud rock band. A stack of those things will make your pants flap, for sure! And it's been a pleasant surprise to me, how well-defined the mids are with those cabs.

I agree. I just got my 1x15, and it is a really nice cab. I've only played it with the eq flat, but it handles my 5 strings no problem. Very nice, full range.

I mentioned this in one of the other Mesa threads, but I am changing my order for a 1x12 to a 2x10 (having not heard either in the real world), since the 1x15 is a little bigger than I'd figured, but still totally manageable. I figure that'll be my "big rig" and I'll get a pair of 1x12's (mesa or other neo's) for my small rig.
