Mesa Subway DI's, Gone For Good?

I'm looking to put together a minimal pedalboard for PA supported gigs and I've been looking for a smallish DI/preamp box. I love my Subway D-800+ and I have been very close to pulling the trigger on a Subway+ DI Preamp, but am hesitant to pick one up due to it's rather large footprint and are no longer being made (the regular Subway DI Preamp is too large for me as well). Whatever route I go, I'll be suing it with a BOSS GT-1000 Core Multi-Effects Pedal.

My question would be if you all think that Mesa Boogie has anything DI/preamp related coming in the near future? I know there's lots of options out there, but I've become so partial to my Subway sound that I don't really want to branch out. My only other experience with DI's is a SansAmp BDDI v2 that I've used for years before my Subway rig, but I don't want to go that route with this pedalboard. I don't dislike my SABDDI, I just want something different and new.

Thanks in advance for any insight, thoughts or suggestions!

Andy and Jeff designed Genzler Preamp pedal with most 800+ features and Jeff's 2 contours

Thank you for the lead Nebadon! I’ll be looking into them. I didn’t pay much attention when they came out, shame on me.

I’ve never heard a Genzler Magellan amp out in the wild and am curious how the Magellan preamp sounds compared to the sound of the Subway series. Time to do some Genzler research I suppose. Thanks again Nebadon!

Yup. Absolutely have to second that on the Genzler preamp pedal! Everything Jeff Genzler touches is magic, and when he pairs up with another engineering genius, the result is pretty great.
The contours in the Genzler preamps are the only contours I've ever found to be actually useful. And not by just a little bit. They're VERY useful.
It was a very easy decision for me to switch my rig over to all Genzler once I tried it out.

Beat me to it! Meant to post pics of the pre/di.

Agree 100%!

Last year around this time, I bought one of the last two Subway DI/Pre's from Bass Club Chicago and I could not have been happier. I wish Mesa continues the production of these... On the other hand another great alternative would be Trickfish's Minnow. I have not heard the Magellan, I am sure it is also great, but if you have the means to try, give the Minnow a shot as well...
