Mesa Walkabout MOSFETs

My amp still works, so it doesn't sound like this is the issue. Was hearing a clipping artifact, so maybe a tube needs replacing
I’ve had some intermittent distortion and noise issues in one of my Walkabouts in the past that were solved with a tube swap, so that would be an easy thing to try if you have any spares around. Does yours have the FX Loop switch and the Active/Passive switch? Models before those updates could sometimes have issues related to jack oxidation

We still service the Walkabout at the factory, the best way to get it fixed right.

If we can’t service it, I can work on it at my R&D lab. It’s better if Justin works on it though, he is more experienced with the Walkabout and has all of the parts there. I have many but not all.

Kris is the guy in customer service to talk with, he’s familiar with the amp.
Thanks Andy. Sorry to hijack the thread!
The amp still works great, I just want to get it looked over before the parts are gone. I liked it so good I bought your wd800 and 1x15

Mine does have the FX Loop and A/P Switch

Does it have the FX Loop bypass switch on the back? Previous versions just had a regular switching jack that seemed prone to oxidation (could just be normal for any amp with a switching serial FX loop jack, but I seem to recall several early Walkabout users having intermittent signal issues due to that jack oxidizing).

Yes, it has the switch. It's a later blackface version

And what‘s when I’m in Europe / Germany?
Bad times…
We have an authorized service center in the UK that can handle this repair: Surrey Amps

He’s experienced with this era of products and has access to the correct parts.
