I've had these live session videos from Ndegeocello's latest album on repeat for the past couple of weeks. Such a great vibe and band! A couple of my favs:

A friend and I saw Meshell at the Blue Note in NYC the other night. It was fantastic. Go if you can.

That album is really good. Its funny, now that I heard her say how much of a influence Mark Hollis was on her, I hear it in her music.

There are parts of the album that I really like and other parts I'm not too big on, but hearing the material live was a totally different experience - especially in an intimate venue. And the album has definitely been growing on me. I'd forgotten about her mentioning Mark Hollis but that makes total sense.

I should have added that Meshell was playing her Wilcock bass through an Orange amp and cabinet. It sounded great.
