metal basses

I'd recommend a Markbass LMII, Avatar B410, and either a BC Rich, a Spector, a Schecter, or an ESP depending on your taste. The amp and cab should cost about $1100, and it sounds great. I play extreme metal, jazz, and rock on a regular basis (band and college) and it does all of them wonderfully. I use a Warwick Corvette Std. (bubinga, passive) and it does a great job but it might be a tad out of your price range. Personally, I'd probably grab a Spector, maybe the Rex Brown sig. or the Legend Custom (although the classic will save money and is still a great bass).
