Metal/Grindcore/Hardcore bass?

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Psyopus. I've never seen a band more hated/loved. They're so insanely techincal and over the top that people who aren't fans of EXTREME technical metal or grindcore will just get a headache.



Insects, from the newest album. The bassist basically follows the guitarist the whole time. Their new album is a big step up and it just came out. Great stuff.

Take a listen to Becoming the Archetype. Fantastic bass lines, AND the bassist does lead vocals. Also, Jake Schultz from Norma Jean is a pretty decent player, especially on their new cd, Redeemer. I love his tone on the album. He's not too technical, but he has a good sense of what the bass needs to do in a band like NJ.
