I was a teenager when both of these bands came to prominence and I LOVED them both. Metallica's first three albums still make my "all-time favorites" list, and I would include Garage Days on that list as well. HATE everything they've done since and haven't listened to them in literally decades. Killing is my Business and Peace Sells both came out while I was in high school and I really liked them at the time but I really haven't listened to them since I was a kid at all. Metallica gets my vote but I gotta say, both bands are dead to me. Such a shame. They were extraordinary in their day, or maybe it's just the way I perceived them at the time. A lot of nostalgia-bias in my opinion. YMMV
