Mexican or American made???

09 mexs are great playin basses.. esp the maple boarded lake placid ones..
tbh i dont have much time for USA fenders asi find them heavily overpriced (not that id turn away a custom shop) get the mex.. great bass and u can mod the hell out of it!!

Some people have very strong preconceptions about where basses come from and what they are. The reality is if you play a bass and like it who cares where it came from? Why pay more for an MIA if you like the feel of the MIM you played better or just as much? You can always get some better pickups in the MIM if thats the problem...

+1.. my mim neck'd USA Bodied (HEAVILY MODDED) P has no signs of where its from.. people ask me where was your fender made..

"a fender factory" i reply ;)

I have had 3 mexican made fenders and I didnt like any of them... I have had several American and Japanese Fenders and Liked all of them... The standard Mexican P and J basses are poorly set up and the deluxe active Jazz that I had was a mess from top to bottom. Maybe just a bit of bad luck w/ those, but...

Nothing against Mexico, but I'm not impressed w/ their Fender products... The difference between MIM and MIA/CIJ imho is that your MIA/CIJ will get better as as it ages ;)

i think there are some americans worth the time.
but i actually heard that a lot of people prefer the mexi's because fender has upped their quality control down there. as with both i think you need to play the individual basses to be able to tell which one is the one for you. i got my american used at a mexi price, best of both worlds
