Does anybody here now any brands of shoes that are made in America? I'm looking for something casual, like in the style of older Vans or something similar, but it seems that most of those kind of shoes are made in somewhere like Honduras or something. My dad is against cheap labor; he wants to buy things that are made in America, or another country that doesn't use extremely cheap labor,(which is how I got my Gibson SG), and I would rather please him by finding a good American-made pair of shoes.

MIA shoes?

Honestly this was all I could find and probably won't help you, sorry. I did look for a while.
Might want to consider a pair of these though. I have both skater-ish shoes, boots and cross country-ish shoes. The cross country ones are awesome when I want to take a load off, they are so much lighter compared to boots or skater shoes, and very comfortable.

That's actually helpful, I had no idea that New Balance was MIA, and I need some new running shoes, thanks.

Check in those small shoe stores (locally owned)They usually have old shoes that they haven't been able to sell , I found some MIA Vans for 5 bucks .
Only some of them are. I myself wear MIC* 574s NewBz with pride.

You have to check out the New Balance line carefully, there are some Chinese made models. I always buy MIA Newbies. I found a pair of MIA at Big 5 Sports.
Although I don't endorse child labour, and cheaply made shoes....I just buy whatever fits me the best. I won't let where it came from affect that decision, if it fits well.

"Simple" shoes are MIA i believe, along with "bates" boots and I think a good majority of skate shoes (I believe emerica, globe, DVS and others are?)

For some reason I'd thought that too so I looked on their website and it says nothing about that but it does say something about making sure they have fair contracts with the shoemaking factories.

It burns me up that when I used to buy Chuck Taylors 15 years ago they were made in USA and cost $25 but today they are made overseas and cost $40. Ridiculous.

They were going to stop making the Chuck Taylors all together, when this was announced there was a run on them. Now they still make them but overseas, so It's that or no Chuck Taylors anymore.
I were Redwings to work. They also have an import line now.
Pretty soon there will be no more american made shoes.
