Thanks to my friend Kurt for forwarding! I've always thought of MA as extremely solid pumping out eighths and sixteenths, but he displays better technique here than I might've expected. Not too shabby!??

Yeah, I've never listened to a ton of VH other than just hearing them everywhere for 20 years like everyone else. And I've never really gotten into their shows. But that solo, the jam and the drums, yeah, that was good. I let it run until Sammy started singing again haha...

For a hot minute he was channeling Steve Harris. I've always thought that he was a much better bass player than what was shown in the VH days. He played what was needed, and made a tidy living off that. I wonder what he would have produced as a solo writer/performer.

I've seen VH live twice, in '84 and '86. Both times Michael killed it. He's a very good bass player.

His playing and singing has always impressed me. I've always favored the sound he got playing his MusicMan StingRay basses.
