Microtubes X

Yeah I'm sure that's what it is. What I've found is that there is a severe shortage of bass players here and most people don't have the knowledge a dedicated bassist would. FYI, We have a couple different shipments scheduled to come in this month. One was scheduled to come in this week I believe. There was a pretty hefty preorder response for this pedal.

Understood! I love Sweetwater's service, just found that e-mail amusing (OJT for my rep's assistant, I assume).

The real takeaway was that the X pedals are on the way. I'd love to have my X7 in time for my Halloween gig so I can dial up some scary-in-a-good-way bass tones! But if they get to Sweetwater "by the end of next week", then that probably means November for me (which is fine, I have 4 gigs that month).

Now my question is this or the DP3X for clean lows with a bit of grit when you dig in?

Both do the Di + compress lows cool stuff. I like that the DP3X has a tuner too but adjusting the crossover frequencies + eq seems a bit of a slam dunk for the X7 if it can do a great low gain setting.

For those who have ordered, I checked the status and there is tracking information in the system now. They are officially on their way to us. Expected delivery to us very early next week for our first two orders of the Microtubes X7's so with any luck everyone who has ordered will have their pedals very soon. I don't want to give exact information because god knows what can happen in transit. I don't want a bunch of angry bass players yelling at their respective SE's because of something I said:)

Cheers!

Dan

And I'm at work without my good headphones :(

Edit - Brace yourself for the onslaught of "really." I'm sending Patrick a thesaurus to demo ;)

Lowe-gain demo around 8:15.

Thanks for posting this. It pretty much sells me on wanting this pedal. Which I pretty much already did , ha ha !!

The only think is I could see this being an always on type pedal for me which begs the question if & when will there be an Ultra Version with the Cab Sim feature like the
current ultra’s ??
Cause I consider that pretty esential currently as I’m Almost always direct & ampless more often than not currently.

He seems like an okay guy in book. I'm just poking a little fun, and I'm sure I couldn't pull off something better.
Also, I'll take his talking over Mr. Ex's scoopy wandering noodle demos any day.

I’m impatiently waiting for hands-on reviews that can answer the question if whether the X7 offers enough tone shaping for those running straight to the PA for use with in-ears. It doesn’t have as flexible of an EQ as the rest of the DG lineup, so I’m mildly hesitant over running the X7 on its own, hence why I haven’t just ordered one already.

I know that for me I'm in on the X7 because it has the adjustable crossover points and bass compression vs being a direct to front of house tool but if it does that well too...damn, that's a lot of board space cleared up.

The X7 doesn't have as much EQ as the Ultras, but it's on par with most non-Ultras in its class. Also, the filter sweeps aren't EQ per se, but they shape tone as well as shaping dirt.
