Microtubes X

What the...

I think that's about ARM chip that's used in microtubes X. There is a few pictures of prototype on instagram.
I guess DG is moving partly into the digital domain. Wonder if they're planning to do more than impulse convolution with it (It looks like it).

My money would be on crossover and compressor (DP-3X style), selectable drive engine + cab IR, using the same algorithm as their VST plugins. Shipping with a B7K and VMT sim, maybe adding AO as a downloadable extra in future. Complete with a headphone amp and aux input.

Just a guess of course, but I'd want one!

At minimum, the Microtubes X will be a multi-band overdrive: high frequencies and low frequencies are distorted independently (think Brimstone Crossover Distortion, VFE Triumvirate, Tech 21 DP-3X, etc).

Per a Doug Castro post here on TalkBass, there will be three different versions of the Microtubes X. I can't wait to see what features are on the luxury (Ultra) model! That said, I'm sure that even the base model will be highly useful.

Tuner? Or tuna?;) Aux in? Headphones? USB?
Have your stocks gone public Doug? :) :bassist::hyper:

Haha I alays take that as a compliment, thank you!

Actually Darkglass is solely owned by me and some key team members I've vested over the years.

Neural DSP just finished a small financing round, however!

Thank you for the kind words.

Hahaha!

Still doing some fine tuning. But for the most part ready.
So... I'm looking at a dUg Tech21DP-3X pedal. How long do I have to wait to compare it to the new DG X series?

You can see a crappy demo I shot a few months ago (disregard the odd pops here and there, the compression module on that version was completely done after filming this).

What I like the most, and what sets this pedal apart from the rest of our lineup is how immune it seems to be to old strings.
