Ed from Sweetwater told me the same thing. Now, he won’t stop calling me.
Hahaha! So true.

I had one guy call me for 2 years about my bass strings I bought.
"Hey Chris! So how's those bass strings working out??"
"Oh, they're pretty dead, man."
"Oh man....I'm really sorry to hear that."
"They lasted a while, man. I liked them."
"Oh, that's really great, man. Just let me know if you need anything!"
"I sure will, buddy!"

I wanna say his name was Ed...

I really, really wish Sweetwater would give up the calling thing. It's 2018.

To preface, I work at SW and I totally get the "why do they still call" thing. But in SW's defense, we are growing at a pretty healthy rate year after year. So I think some people like the personal touch, some people don't mind, and some people don't like it. It all depends. I had no feelings one way or the other about it and pretty much ignored the calls. There was a point though where my SE and I became friends and I started picking up the phone to chat and catch up. It's not for everyone, that's for sure, but I'm a bit of an extrovert and like talking to people, especially those with similar interests. If you really don't like the calls, tell your SE that. There are other ways to do business, for sure.

Ftr, they don’t bother me either. I just find them hilarious.
“These folks really cared about my Lo-Riders”
I started using Hi Beams but didn’t tell him. I assumed he would have lost sleep that night.

My Sweetwater rep has called me like 5 times in the past 2 weeks....because I have placed like 5 orders in past two weeks! Two of them were for Darkglass pedals. Stupid 4 year interest free financing :)
Yeah this last round of financing was ridiculous. I actually opened up a synchrony card because of the financing SW does. Haven't used it yet but I know it will come in handy at some point down the line. I really hope I can get my hands on the X and the Luminal compressor at some point. I haven't checked to see when the X is expected, I'll definitely be keeping my eye out. I need to go down to the store and see if they have the HL in stock so I can audition one.

The Sweetwater calls don't bother me: they go to voicemail on my land line. ;) Wouldn't bother me either!

Same here, except it's my cell number (no land line). I guess if I lost every friend I had in the world, I could just buy something from Sweetwater, and have someone to talk to about things. I wonder how long the sales rep would hang on the line if I went into support group mode:

"Hi, I'm Micguy, and I have a gear addiction"

I have two questions if you're reading Doug:

1) if the high side is distorted, and the low side is left untouched, what happens to the freqs that fall between the filters?

2) gain stacking: multiband before or after a full range distortion? (b3k into mtx7 vs mtx into b7k?)

Bonus: is the voicing of the distortion based on the vintage, b3/7, or entirely new?

That would be a question for Stephen Hawking. Because black holes. Oh, never mind.

Seriously: midrange freqs that fall between the filters would be attenuated or disappear entirely. Depends on the size of the gap and the slope of the filters. I think. I'm not Doug (obviously).

Interesting question on stacking order. I'd love to hear Doug's thoughts, but one valid answer is "try both ways and pick the one you like better".

Ok really stupid question here... comparing this with a pedal that has a high pass blend already ( cog effects, mbd1 etc), is this just providing more customising of that same effect? I’m quite intrigued as to the setup and sound between where the low pass, mids and high pass are all then set to... will have to await more videos and reviews!
