mid 80's Yamaha BB2000 worth $500

Picked up the bass yesterday. WOW, what a well made instrument! I bit heavy, some hipshot ultralites may help along with replacing the pup switch with a blend knob? Im kind of a jazz bass guy so I need to roll off the neck pup a touch to get the bump.. but so far im impressed with this thing. Pics later.

Please don't change it too much. I think they are classics in their original form.

I agree with you guys, I just dont want it to sit around and not get played that much b/c of a heavy neck or not the right tone Im looking for? I was almost thinking of making a Jazz bass trade just so I dont change anything around on this bass??

Well, you can easily change out the tuners. If you ever want to go back to the original ones, they will cover the screw hole left by the ultra lite hipshots. Just don't loose the originals.

Yeah most of my basses Ive swaped out the tuners, controls etc... but I really dont want to do it to this one for some reason, this bass is absolutely mint! Im going to check this bass out on tuesday night during practice and see how it cuts through without having the option of rolling off the neck pup a bit? If Im not into it it may be hitting the trade chopping block soon.....

Give us the 'heads up', in case that happens... ;)

Hoping it doesn't come to that for you, though. They really are fantastic basses. My (greatly missed :crying:) BB5000 had the same configuration & I never had a problem cutting through in the mix.

Good luck - and we're still waiting on those pics! :D
