Local police and especially fire and rescue are having serious life threatening problems getting to and transporting the injured and sick. I can't ever remember hearing it this bad.

When I did some shoveling about 2 hours ago, it was at about 18" and it's been snowing heavily since then. It's so deep that even my Siberian Huskies are having trouble getting around in the back yard.

We're not going anywhere for a while.

I am really tempted to crank up my rig and see if I can play loud enough to shake the snow off the roof!

They're called Tempo shelters. You build them up during Fall (that means inserting anchors in the driveway) and take them apart when most of the snow has melted.

Since they're covered with heavy-duty tarp, you can take a soft-pointed stick, or a broom, and "push" the snow off the top. If it doesn't slide off by itself.

That depends. When we got the big snowfall last month, my next door neighbor had just gotten a new snowblower and was so happy with it that he repeatedly cleared my sidewalk. I'm hoping that his enthusiasm hasn't waned! If it has, I'll be shoveling. I learned from the hour I spent shoveling earlier today that this is very heavy snow, so I'm not looking forward to that.

Still, what you see in the picture is about the extent of the frontage of my property, so it could be worse.

I'm in Philadelphia,Pa and it looks like we got about twenty inches.It's still coming down.

Haven't listened to the news but heard that the Goverenor declared a state of emergency.

I'm waiting to hear if my gig tonight is canceled.It should be but, believe it or not,the client is insisting that he wants it to go on.If it is a state of emergency situation one isn't supposed to be driving unless you absolutely have to(hospital,fire,etc.).You can get a huge fine otherwise.You can even get a fine if you get stranded if the state police think your out for non essential reasons.

This gig is about 60 to 70 miles away in the Allentown burbs.The client's been calling our drummer telling him we HAVE to make it.I better find out soon.In order to start playing by 7:30 PM I have to get prepared now!

I don't think it's gonna come off.
