Left the TRC off for now, & haven't adjusted the intonation yet.
I'll get to that tomorrow. Tired of futzing with it for today, & I want to give the neck a night to breathe.
Had to loosen the TR about 3/4 of a turn to get some relief.

3.8 kilograms

The treble side machine heads get crazy tight to turn with the nut tightened down.
I might take the strings off tomorrow & loosen those to just finger tight.

It's odd, because they turn just just fine when not installed. (yeah, I removed them to see what was the matter)

I have tuners on my Gold Tone with that issue - I found that pushing on where the screw comes through the other side of the tuner (to keep the screw thread aligned with the gear) helped keep them from binding up. But I'll be replacing the tuners with that issue, it's just a temporary workaround.

Yeah, that's the thing, the worm gear will move over in the chassis & that causes it to bind up. Not sure why tightening the nut holding the machine head in makes it worse.
Doubt I could find these flat grey machines heads, but cosmo black would do.

Closer to the SRX2 I had, basswood body.
The SRX700 are Ash.

Yes, but not the OHSC. It was some ratty case like a Gibson would come in:

sort of like that^, but one side is flat & the buckles are all just a little rusty

The Ibanez/Giger tie in was down to Celtic Frost getting back together, as Ibanez also released the Giger Iceman at the same time as the SR. Because Tom was known as an IC player, he also had a long time relationship with H.R. Giger.

IIRC, Tom still uses the Giger IC.

I'll find out soon. I took it by the local Ibanez dealer yesterday to see if Ibanez is willing to do anything about the bridge.
The saddles only have an adjustment screw on one side & the remaining side bends down, leaving the saddles slanted.

Didn't find out until I got it home that the machine heads are also stuffed up, so that's around $100 for a set of GOTOH's that won't match.
The finish is flat grey, not cosmo black.

TBH if I'd known the "case" was a junker I probably wouldn't have bought it. Next time I will ask to see the "case" before I put my money down.

Ironically, I only just parted with my old SRX, which had cosmo black machine heads I could have swapped.

I haven’t seen it in print for a while, I guess it’s considered misogynistic horror-porn, And I won’t argue otherwise, but it strikes a nerve, incredibly creepy, disturbing images, rendered with incredible skill and twisted imagination. All the visual imagery for Alien, including the monster itself, is right there.

I never did like the satin finish on the HRG IC's, and unfortunately, I never did like the SR either.

Guess I'll stick with my gloss finish IC400's!

And always preferred Frost when Martin used Ric's.
