Fun thread - congrats on the bass. I've got one that's nearly identical, although I've been going back & forth between black & white guards. The tort looks terrific - I usually don't like it against maple boards, but on your bass it totally works.
Mine - had me at hello, and was fortunately still around four months later when I realized that I *had* to have it. Amazing bass. Totally captures the ash/maple Jazz vibe, IMO.

Great looking bass! You guys are killing me with these high end Jazz's. I don't need another bass...
Thanks Jerry, all. This one is sure to kill my GAS... at least for a while. But then, what else do I need right now? Everything we did and do, jazz, r&b, disco, rock... it felt and sounded right at home with all of it; it was all in the technique, and this bass is so responsive to technique.

Amazing bass, and the ground it covers is just remarkable.Truss rod - all you need is a screwdriver. A Phillips-head will work, but I prefer to use a standard-head...for me it seems to "bite" a little better.

Thanks Jerry. Yeah, I've adjusted the neck twice since I got the bass on Friday. I believe the neck had bowed somewhat in transit, and I used a flathead for the adjustment. It left me wishing, though, that I didnt have to take the neck off every time I need to adjust the truss, restring, tune, etc., possibly repeat...

No need to take off the neck - with a medium length screwdriver (~ 4-5" shaft, maybe?) you can easily reach in there, with all the torque you'll need. I just bend the 'A' string up a bit and go between it and the 'D' string. Adjustments are quick and easy.
