Hello fellow low-enders..... In my best attempt at a BassCliff type gig report, here we go-

Today's gig was at I Square in Rochester, NY. The gig was sponsored by the House of Guitars, which is the world's largest music store. We opened for Adrenaline, which is a kick @ss band.

The drive to the gig.... typical boring country road from my house to civilization....

The sunburst P has been my main player since 2001 or so and the same set of TI Flats have been on it the whole time. The Valenti I bought from Nino in the mid 2000's and it's been my number two player ever since.

Hi Grant - my wife and I like the quiet of the country. There's more tractors out here than traffic lights and that's a good thing for us. We both have a bit of a drive to work, but it's all good.

I was impressed by the Rumble 500. My usual gig rig is a Bassman 400 (which weighs about 3x what the Rumble did) but they offered it up and I accepted. I had no problem keeping up with the Marshall half stack that Rob used.

Hi Bill - We're doing mainly 70's and 80's heavy rock. Sabbath (both Ozzy & Dio), Thin Lizzy, Kiss, Riot, Nazareth etc. We also throw in a couple songs from Rob's last original band and a 90's Megadeth song, that I sing lead on.

My wife and I like the quiet of the country, too (live in Farmington).

Most people in/around the area work in Rochester. The great thing about Rochester is you are usually no more than 30 minutes drive from trees and lakes, but you’ve got all of the modern conveniences.

Nice gig report. Did HoG provide the back line?

Nice to see another local TB'er here..... there's enough of us here that we should try to get together for a meet n greet.

I really like the area of NY that we live in..... other than the taxes. If I had my way, we would have gotten out of Monroe County and gone a little further west or south, but that's a topic for another thread. For now we're in Spencerport, right on the border of Churchville. I work in Irondequoit so I get to battle 490/590 traffic every day...... no wonder I drink as much as I do.

Yes, the HoG provided the backline. Jay brought his pedals, cymbals and snare drum since he wasn't sure what/wouldn't be available for him.

If you work day tour, you get to drive into the sun both ways. Yuk!

For that reason, I’m an east sider and work in Henrietta.

Yep, I get the sun both ways..... lucky me.

My wife works in Henrietta..... she also gets to drive into the sun both ways.

Hi Mr. @Mike N,

This is a great gig report and a nice gig that I know I would enjoy playing. It looks like they took your backline right off the showroom floor. Sweet. Was the HoG crew running your sound too? I haven't watched the video yet, let me get back to my computer. This looks like a park in a town square. Did you draw a crowd? Was there line dancing? (j/k) ;)

I love the "more cowbell" shot. Thanks for sharing your gig!

Hi Cliff - The Rumble and Marshall sure looked showroom fresh to us, too. Even two of the cymbal stands still had the tags on them.

The HoG crew did run sound, although they forgot to plug the drummer's monitor in so he had a but of trouble hearing everything.

It is a park in the middle of town. We drew maybe 100 people, although we had few right down in front. There's a bunch of picnic tables at the edge of the grass, right about where the video was taken from and that's where the crowd hung out.

I think I'm going to buy Rob his own cowbell..... he really needs one.
